Honor

Worship Team recruits, trains and coordinates all who serve in various capacities of worship; is responsible for the care of hymnals and other music resources, and provides devotional materials for ministry; arranges for the care of paraments, vestments, musical instruments, and anything related to worship services; oversees policies related to the Memorial Garden and Meditation Niche and pavers.

Teach

Faith Formation Team provides support and education for all ages so that individuals can articulate their faith and share it with others; encourages an active prayer life; supports Bible study and small group ministry; oversees the church library.

Live

Outreach Team oversees local, national and global social ministry outreach. A sample of the organizations we support monetarily and with our time include the IFC, Habitat for Humanity, TABLE, Safe Passage, CROP Walk, Spirit of Giving, and Our Children’s Place.

Church-Family Life Team is responsible for the welcoming and hospitality of guests; coordinating fellowship activities of the congregation and LCM; and ensuring that the kitchen and pantry is organized and stocked.

Pastoral Care Team addresses the health, wellness, illness, emotional and spiritual needs of the congregation through various programs and committees including:  Support Team Ministry, Flower Ministry, Card Ministry, Healing /Anointing Ministry, Bereavement Committee, Hospital Team Ministries for Duke and UNC-CH, Large Print Hymnal Committee, Prayer Chain Ministry, Crisis Ministry, and the Health Ministry Cabinet.

Commit

Ministry Support Team cultivates the time and talent of members needed to sustain our ministry; coordinates the annual pledge campaign each spring, recruits new members to be involved in the life of the church; hosts orientation sessions for new members.

Operations Team insures that our finances are in order; the physical plant, including the grounds, are well-maintained and functioning as efficiently as possible; and insures that HTLC is staffed and resourced appropriately to accomplish the congregation's goals. 

Mutual Ministry is a support group for the pastors of the congregation.

Finance Committee oversees the accounting of contributions and work with our bookkeeper.

Personnel Committee interviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the congregational council regarding staff.

Campus Ministry Team organizes LCM around the mission of Honor, Teach, Live, and Commit; evaluates and advises LCM in relating to students, faculty, and staff at UNC-CH; insures LCM complies with procedures required by National Lutheran Campus Ministry and NC Synod Campus Ministry.
