Volunteers knit shawls and / or contribute funds to purchase yarn. The prayer shawls are given to members and friends at time of need.
We have regularly participated in building and paying for houses here in Orange County since 2005. We are part of the Building Hope Partnership which physically and financially builds a house yearly.
HTLC is an annual sponsor of this event that raises money to feed those in need. This event is held in April. We have folks who walk and folks who sponsor walkers. Our HTLC Youth sponsor a water station.
Every Sunday we collect non-perishable food items for IFC to distribute. We also have volunteers who cook a meal two Sundays a month for the homeless in our community. HTLC is also a financial supporter of IFC.
We sponsor Hurricane relief trips. We are also involved with Safe Passage in Guatemala. www.safepassage.org
A group focused on the health and well-being of our congregation, as well as an outreach to the Latino community regarding health issues.
HTLC has an ongoing relationship with this community resource for Latinos. Currently, we provide space for Mujer a Mujer, a group that meets weekly to learn the art of jewelry making and the development of self-esteem and healthy lifestyles.
We offer financial support to the ELCA’s work around the world, and send members to Global Missions Event each year.
An annual event in November where Christmas gifts may be purchased, and proceeds benefit nonprofit organizations.
We have settled seven Burmese families in the community in partnership with Lutheran Family Services.
