The goal of the Youth and Children’s Ministries at Holy Trinity is that ALL YOUTH AND CHILDREN BE INVOLVED IN THE TOTAL LIFE AND MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH. In order to accomplish this goal, youth and children are involved in a balance program of activities from each of the following teams:
HONOR – experience of worship as a group and with the entire congregation.
TEACH – exploration of topics and issues; Bible studies.
LIVE - youth and children learn how to share their faith with other members of the congregation and the community.
COMMIT – youth are encouraged to commit, their time, talents and treasures.
The Youth and Children’s Ministries at Holy Trinity are based on 3 parts.
STUDY/SCRIPTURE – participation in Sunday school, confirmation class, on going devotions, mini-courses on various subjects, as well as speakers, and scripture based programs.
SERVICE – youth learn about being a service to others. There are on-going service projects as well as short-term projects. These may include: the annual Crop walk, baking cookies and meals for homeless kitchen, annual stocking of IFC food pantry, as well as a mission trip experience for middle and high school youth.
SOCIAL – lock-ins, recreation, socials, support groups and group building including planning retreats help build a close community.
There are two congregational-sponsored youth groups at Holy Trinity for young people in grades 3 through 12.
Joyful Servants grades 3-5
HTLC Youth grades 6-12
The Youth Ministry Team will support and encourage participation in local, state, synodical, regional, and national ELCA youth programs, events, and training opportunities.
